Ceres Community Project serves primarily low-income people with serious health challenges by providing free and low-cost, home-delivered, nourishing organic meals cooked by young adult volunteer chefs; expert nutrition education; and caring support. View client services information here.
Sonoma County
From its roots as a local organization feeding neighbors living with HIV, Food For Thought continues to grow as a countywide agency fostering health and healing with food and compassion. FFT provides healthy groceries and meals to people living in Sonoma County with serious medical challenges. Read more about the agency.
Fresno, Kings, Madera, and Tulare Counties
Fresno Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) operates human service programs designed to reduce poverty, increase self-sufficiency, and build stronger communities. Fresno EOC provides food to families residing in rural communities and inner-city areas, featuring a cost-effective and convenient means of fulfilling needs for balanced daily nutrition.
San Jose
Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen believe that good food is for everyone. Whether you are a single parent working hard to take care of your family, a senior citizen trying to make ends meet in the place you’ve always called home, a child who worries when the school cafeteria is closed, or a worker who got laid off from a job—all of us deserve the sustenance of good food.
San Diego County
Mama’s Kitchen believes that everyone is entitled to the basic necessity of life: nutritious food. The organization feeds people dealing with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, HIV, kidney disease, and other chronic illnesses and is a participant in the MTM State Pilot Program.
Los Angeles County
Project Angel Food was founded by a group of volunteers who were concerned about community members enduring malnutrition and the many other ravages of HIV/AIDS. It now serves any person battling critical illness and is a part of the MTM pilot program for patients with congestive heart failure.
Alameda and San Francisco Counties
Project Open Hand began delivering life-saving nutrition in 1985 to neighbors fighting AIDS. A longtime advocate of the Food is Medicine, it now provides Medically Tailored Meals to community members with critical illnesses in San Francisco and Alameda Counties. MTMs are available at POH’s San Francisco and Oakland locations; homebound clients receive home-delivered meals. Find menus here.

Teen Kitchen Project builds healthy communities through food. The preparation and sharing of food allows our community to experience gratitude, compassion, connection, and serving those in greatest need.
